There has been a lot going on since we have started this community initiative…
We have done the following:
Provided an urban geograghy tour of the Inner City for one of JHB’s private boys’ schools
Partnered with Ellis Park World of Sport to do a walk from the Maboneng Precinct to Ellis Park Stadium for the Lion’s Home Semi win over the Stormers
Sold out for all our Picnics in the Sky Tours this year
Joined forces with the restorer of the JHB’s Magistarte’s Court’s priceless JH Pierneefs in order to rediscover these national Treasures
Supported the Cities Transport Month by particpating in the walk, cycle or skateboard from Constitutional Hill on a 5km route to Newtown, past key City sites such as Chancellor House, Gandhi Square, the High Court and the Drill Hall
Colloborated on 7 Wanderers City Projects, a project initiated by MzansiCultura.es, the cultural programme of the Embassy of Spain in South Africa. Facilitated by Victor Neustetter in colloboration with Ali Jaiteh from Senegal and Big Steve from Nigeria. Big Steve and Ali will met for the first time on the 20th of November. Ali, a resident of Hillbrow and very acquitanted with the area introduced Steve and the walkers to various areas and individuals from Hillbrow’s Nigerian community. Fascinating.
